The ARC Pathway covers years 7, 8 and 9 and is for pupils who find it difficult to engage in lessons. They are taught separate to the mainstream for set durations in order to encourage them to reengage more positively in their learning experience. We have pupils that benefit from the setting who have different learning styles but need a more differentiated curriculum.
All classes are fairly small catering for approximately 16 pupils and are staffed with ARC Teachers who deliver a bespoke timetable consisting of English and Maths (Pupils will be taught Science by specialist staff), as well as a range of ASDAN courses. There is also individual mentoring as well as an LSA where there are SEN pupils.
High importance is placed on engaging and enthusing our pupils and so the curriculum is structured with that in mind. The objective is to successfully transition back into the mainstream, as more positive learners.
