Shoeburyness High School Summer Transition Programme

The Shoeburyness High School Summer Transition Programme was launched in 2012 with the aim of helping the new Year 7 intake acclimatise to life in Shoeburyness High School before the start of Year 7.

The free programme allowed for the new students to meet members of the school staff, familiarise themselves with the layout of the school by being led on tours of key areas that the students will need to know by their future year manager and experience 100 minute lessons as they would in the regular school day.

Feedback from the new students was very positive; here is a selection of quotes taken from the participants:

“I enjoyed the tours because it helped me find my way around the school.”

“I enjoyed the lessons the most because the teachers made an effort to make the lessons fun.”

“It made me less nervous about meeting my teachers in Year 7.”

“It was fun and made me more confident for the future.” .

Information regarding the 2014 Summer Transition Programme will be appearing on this page soon.
